Advisory Information ***************
The National Weather Service has issued Air Stagnation Advisories for
much of south central Oregon through Friday (Jan. 17).
**Please use extra precautions and limit forestland burning to units
that will not worsen air quality within nearby SSRAs. **

1. DISCUSSION AND FORECAST FOR SOUTH CENTRAL
OREGON ZONES 624 AND 625
Upper
level ridge is building into the Pacific Northwest today and will continue
building over the region through Tuesday.
Air mass is stabilizing today and will be very stable tomorrow with very
light wind flow. Burning will need to be
curtailed considerably.
EXTENDED DISCUSSION
Upper
level ridge will remain entrenched over the state through the week keeping
mixing poor and wind flow light. Expect limited burn opportunities.

TUESDAY
Mixing
height below 1000 ft throughout the day.
Transport
wind light and variable and controlled by local terrain.
Surface
wind light and variable and controlled by local terrain.

This instruction
is valid for burning conducted on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.

Unfavorable
burning situation due to very poor smoke dispersion. Delay ignitions until 10 a.m. Avoid ignitions within 20 miles in all
directions of SSRAs. For units that will
smolder significantly through the night avoid burning within at least 35 miles
in all directions of SSRAs. Recommend
against burning units that will smolder significantly overnight. Complete ignitions by 3 p.m.
