The Air Quality Advisory for today Sunday OCTOBER 29, 2017 through NOON tomorrow Monday OCTOBER 30, 2017 IS RED

 

The RED Advisory Call means the following:

 

1.   ONLY PELLET STOVES and EXEMPTIONS May be used within the Air Quality Zone:  as per Klamath County Ordinance #406.150 (1)(A)

  

2.   Outside the Air Quality Zone: All woodstove, pellet stoves and fireplaces may be used.

 

3.   Outdoor or Open Burning is prohibited Countywide as per Klamath County Ordinance #406.100 (4)(A)

 

4.    The Open Burn Window has been cancelled today due to very low mixing heights, meaning we will have an inversion for most of the day. If the mixing heights increase tomorrow we resume the open burn window.

The YELLOW advisory call means:

 

1.    ONLY CERTIFIED WOODSTOVES, PELLET STOVES AND CERTIFIED FIREPLACE INSERTS MAY BE USED  WITHIN THE AQ ZONE, as per Klamath County Ordinance # 406.150 (1)(B)

 

2.    THE USE OF NON-CERTIFIED WOODSTOVES OR FIREPLACES is PROHIBITED WITHIN THE AQ ZONE as per Klamath County Ordinance # 406.150 (1)(B)

 

3.    Outside the Air Quality Zone, all woodstoves, pellet stoves and fireplaces may be used.

 

4.    Outdoor burning is not allowed county wide per Ordinance 406.100(4)(a)
