TO BURN OUTSIDE THE AIR QUALITY ZONE YOU MUST FOLLOW THE RULES BELOW. VIOLATION OF THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN A FINE OF UP TO $720 FOR THE FIRST VIOLATION
Requirements are as
follows:
- The Air Quality Advisory must be “GREEN”. Call 882-BURN (2876) for the Advisory.
- No prohibited materials including plastic, rubber, tar, petroleum products, treated or painted wood may be burned.
- The burning will be accomplished as quickly as possible and with
the minimum amount of smoke produced.
- All burning must occur during daylight hours, may not be started before one hour after sunrise and must be extinguished at least one hour.
- The wind must be between 3 and 10 mile per hour (light breeze). Detailed wind information is available at 541-882-8127.
- A responsible adult must be present at the fire from first flame
until the fire is extinguished and be equipped with the necessary
equipment to extinguish the fire if needed.
- You must adhere to all municipal, Local Fire District, State Fire Marshal, and Oregon Department of Forestry DEQ rules, ordinances or restrictions.
- Notify 911 at 541-884-4876
before burning.
