Only 10 days until air quality season begins!
Beginning October 15th, we will issue daily air quality advisories that states the burning restrictions for the day.
If we fail to follow the air quality advisories, Klamath County will not reach attainment for and
will void years of our community's hard work.
If we do not reach
attainment, federal funds may be restricted for transportation projects. Moreover, new or expanding industries will continue to be burdened by
additional, stringent regulations.
Non-attainment status hurts all of us; it is
detrimental to our local economy, our health and our community. If we continue to work
together and we can reach attainment. By reaching attainment we can secure federal funding and relax
requirements on local industry.
